Polk County Traffic Court Records
Polk Probate Court runs the misdemeanor traffic docket for the county. The cities keep their own. Cedartown, Rockmart, Aragon, and Braswell each maintain a municipal traffic and ordinance docket. The place and police agency on the ticket usually point to the right court. Still, the citation itself is the best guide. City tickets stay with that municipal court. Probate traffic cases belong with the Probate clerk.
What the docket shows varies. Entries can list citation number, offense, appearance date, plea, payment status, disposition, and any failure-to-appear event. It is not the same history Georgia Driver Services keeps. The Georgia Courts traffic page confirms the state has no central citation database.
No Central Polk Ticket Database
The state recommends searching the issuing court first. A court tool may prompt you for details. Have the name, date of birth, city or county of issuance, and citation number ready. Fresh citations can take seven to twenty-one business days to show up. That lag never moves the date printed on the citation.
Quick answer: If the citation is absent online, call the issuing court and keep following the written appearance instructions.
Polk does not appear in the county menu on the Georgia Probate Records traffic search. That is a portal limit only. It does not mean Probate holds no file.
When Polk Tickets Have Not Posted
A new citation may reach the court before it reaches the linked search vendor. Georgia Courts gives a processing range of seven to twenty-one business days. During that gap, keep the paper citation and confirm which court is printed on it. The online delay never replaces the written response date.
Once the normal window passes, run the search again with the citation number and exact birth date. Still nothing? Call the issuing clerk. Rockmart's official guidance offers two options. A person may register for an email notice. They can also call after a ticket stays missing more than two weeks. Cedartown routes missing citations to Court Services. Probate, Aragon, and Braswell each want a clerk-first call as well.
The clerk can confirm whether the ticket arrived. They can also see whether a name or number was keyed differently, and what action is still due. A blank result is never a dismissal. Write down the call and the court's instructions, especially with an appearance date near.
Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Begin with the paper or electronic citation. It names Probate or the city court. Use the tool that court links. A payment vendor can surface a lookup, but only the clerk handles a contest, a missed date, or a certified disposition.
- Find the issuing court and citation number.
- Use citation number or last name with the required birth date.
- If no result appears, wait only within the state processing window.
- Call or visit the court counter before the stated response date.
- Record the appearance date, response instructions, and confirmed status.
Each clerk has a direct line. Probate answers at 770-749-2128, Cedartown Court Services at 770-748-4123, with automated information at 404-476-3780. Rockmart's clerk is 770-684-2352. Aragon's chief court clerk is 770-684-6563, extension 160, and Braswell's court clerk uses 770-684-7979, extension 7.
Polk Ticket Search Fields
The county-linked tools ask for different fields. EZCourtPay requires a birth date plus a citation number or last name. MagistratePay changes its fields with the case type you pick. Probate's statewide form has broad date fields. Polk is missing from its county list.
| Portal | Search fields | Polk limit |
|---|---|---|
| EZCourtPay | Birth date; citation number or last name | Lookup and payment shell, not full docket |
| Probate Records | County, names, offense, disposed, and court-date ranges | Polk absent from inspected list |
| MagistratePay | Case type, birth date, citation or account number, last name | Fields change by case type |
The EZCourtPay interface is shown below.

Its simple search shows why the clerk stays necessary for the full traffic record.
The MagistratePay shell offers a second field pattern.

That vendor serves specific lower-court payment categories rather than every Polk citation.
Polk County Traffic Court Date
The appearance date may be printed on the citation. It may be repeated in the portal or court docket. Confirm it with the issuing court before you travel. A reset or continuance means the setting moved, not that the citation vanished. When paper and portal conflict, the court clerk is authoritative.
| Citation number | The local identifier printed on the ticket, such as citation number shown by court. |
|---|---|
| Court | Polk Probate or the issuing municipal court. |
| Date and time | The required appearance or scheduled hearing. |
| Status | Pending, paid, disposed, reset, or an FTA event when reported. |
| Disposition | The court's final action after payment, plea, or hearing. |

Polk Probate and City Dockets
Probate traffic and city traffic stay separate. Polk Probate sits at Courthouse No. 1, Room 102, 100 Prior Street in Cedartown, open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The cities use different vendors. Rockmart links municipal citations to EZCourtPay, and Cedartown uses GovernmentWindow. Aragon links CourtPayment, while Braswell relies on a deeper GovernmentWindow page.
| Court route | Best first channel | Fallback |
|---|---|---|
| Polk Probate | Citation and court-linked payment route | 770-749-2128 or clerk counter |
| Rockmart | EZCourtPay | Municipal clerk |
| Cedartown | GovernmentWindow | Court Services phone |
| Aragon or Braswell | City-linked payment page | City court clerk |
The Georgia Probate filing-cost calculator appears below.

It illustrates a Probate cost tool only, not a universal quote for city traffic citations.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Paying and contesting are different procedural choices. A payment generally resolves the amount through the court's accepted channel. It may also record a plea and disposition. Contesting means following the appearance or plea instructions from the issuing court. A vendor cannot decide eligibility or move a court date.
| Pay | Contest |
|---|---|
| Confirm the charge, amount, and court first. | Follow the citation's appearance and plea instructions. |
| Use only the court-linked portal, mail route, or counter. | Contact the clerk about how a not-guilty plea is entered. |
| Keep the receipt and verify the court's status. | Attend the setting unless the court confirms a change. |
Missed date: Call the issuing clerk promptly. Rockmart code allows bond forfeiture and a warrant at the judge's discretion, but consequences vary by court.
Rockmart does not accept online or phone payment on the scheduled date or after a missed date. Contact the clerk instead. A payment screen will not clear a failure to appear.
Polk Traffic Fine Tables
Polk Probate posts only part of its speeding schedule. The published ranges run from 6 to 10 MPH over at $45. Then come 11 to 14 at $125, and a 15 to 18 range runs $145. Faster speeds cost more. 19 to 23 MPH over carries $180. The 24 to 33 range runs $275, and 34 to 37 hits $350. Points appear beside some ranges on the page. Treat these as Probate figures only. No table covers every city, charge, or live case in a Polk County court docket.
Confirm the exact charge and the current amount with the issuing court. Extra counts, local assessments, missed dates, and orders tied to your case all matter. These can push your total past any static table. A fine chart is a starting point, never the final bill.
Tie the amount you pay to the citation number and the court's current record. Read every count listed, because one traffic stop can spawn several charges. Ask the clerk what a figure means. Is it a base fine, a running balance, or the full total due? The portal may refuse payment on the appearance date. Follow the clerk's directions instead of hopping vendors. Keep your confirmation, and check that the court logged the outcome you expected.
A schedule cannot tell you whether contesting, resetting, or another procedure is open to you. Those calls come from the citation, the court rules, and the issuing clerk. When the printed instructions confuse you, call before the deadline passes.
Traffic Record vs Driving Record
A Georgia traffic ticket lives in two separate records. The court citation file belongs to Probate, Magistrate, or a municipal clerk. Georgia DDS keeps the driving history. A court portal can show an offense, court date, plea, disposition, payment, or FTA event, yet it is still not the official DDS record.
| Court traffic record | Driver record | |
|---|---|---|
| Custodian | Issuing Polk court or clerk | Georgia DDS |
| Shows | Citation, setting, plea, disposition, fine | State-maintained driving history |
| Request | Court portal or clerk | Separate DDS route |
A DDS history is never a substitute for a certified court disposition. The same rule cuts the other way, since a court vendor summary is not the state's official driving history.
Polk Traffic Copies and Fees
Ask the issuing court for a certified traffic disposition. Polk publishes no universal traffic-copy fee table. The county fee schedule prices Magistrate plain copies at $0.50 per page, with certified copies at $2.50 plus $0.50 for each additional page. Do not assume those figures apply to Probate or a city court.
| Item | Published fee | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Magistrate plain copy | $0.50 per page | Only when Magistrate holds the file |
| Magistrate certified copy | $2.50 plus added pages | Confirm current total |
| Probate or municipal copy | Ask issuing clerk | No common fee documented |
Give the clerk the citation number, your name, the approximate date, and the document you need. Ask if certification, mailing, or staff research adds a charge.
Polk and Federal Court Boundaries
A county traffic citation stays in state court. Polk lies inside the Northern District of Georgia's Rome Division, but that fact alone changes nothing for a Probate or municipal ticket. PACER and bankruptcy access serve federal cases only. The Northern District Bankruptcy Court source shows the bankruptcy court's own separate case-access pages.

Federal case access runs on its own system. The Rome Division courthouse page gives another marker of where that federal jurisdiction begins.

Polk traffic questions still return to Probate or the citation-issuing city court.
